One's Wish

I was kind of lacking the impetus to work on any comics of late. So to try and rekindle some interest I revisited an old idea of mine from many years ago.

One's Wish was this comic jam I participated in way back in 2002. The website is long gone, but there are a few pages left thanks to the Internet Archive I was posting as Skippy the Klingon, anyway it's nice to re-examine those pages and really appreciate how much I've improved as an artist.


This comic follows the story of this girl who has a human mother and a merman father. The girl has been lost at sea, and the mother has summoned her father to alert him about the disappearance and informing him of her intention of participating in the search. This is mostly an attempt at re-creating page 19 of the story. I always found the idea of the parents much more intriging than the daughter, and they tended to take center stage during the pages I drew for the jam.
