Description

The Open Source Character of the Month for July is the sea faring Nereid!
Claudia Landry was in love with a Merman named Jeran, who was a prince among his people. He gave her a magic necklace that allowed her to live with him beneath the seas. It was not all happiness though, clan wars, human (and superhuman) encroachment, ancient magical creatures and even the gods themselves threatened their way of life. Claudia became a skilled warrior in her own right, and the pair of them fought together against all comers. Their exploits even came to the attention of the surface world, including some super hero teams that have tried to recruit them.

Awesome work!

I'll be using this fantastic character in a comic book that I'll be doing for my own original Super Hero,a black character who is a Superman-like hero(I'm using Blue Marvel,Icon,Val-Zod,Calvin Ellis,Steel and Meteor Man as an influence and inspiration for the character and I'm basing his appearance on the likeness of Denzel Washington as a young man).

I'm going to use the model and entrepreneur Madi Teeuws as the basis for the appearance of my version of Nereid. She might be wearing a little more clothing for my version in the comic, though!

Ha! Ha! Here, she's practically naked! Mind you,I'm not complaining but her costume will be practical and utilitarian while at the same time sexy and showing off her feminine figure(since everything helps to sell a comic book and the reality is that it helps a comic book to have attractive main characters). So I would say that my specific take on Nereid will be a lot more like how Wonder Woman looks in DC films.
